Joshua Murtie

Josh Murtie is Vice President of Biology at Photys Therapeutics. Josh brings over 15 years of drug discovery experience in a variety of settings ranging from large pharma to small startup where he contributed to multiple successful IND filings and drug approvals. He began his career in large pharma in the oncology divisions of NIBR and Sanofi. From there, he joined Agios Pharmaceuticals as the head of in vivo pharmacology and was responsible for in vivo pharmacology support to the oncology and rare genetic disease portfolios. After several years in that role, he transitioned to become the head of cancer biology at Agios. He continued moving to progressively smaller organizations as the head of biology at Cedilla Therapeutics prior to joining Photys. Josh is driven to bring new medicines to patients in need and has been responsible for strategic oversight of the drug discovery process from early target identification and validation through translational support of marketed drugs.
